September 2020
+ January 2021  Unlearning & Healing Sessions

We hope to use this session as an opportunity to provide clarity to individuals in the community about some of the most important issues plaguing the most vulnerable populations on our campus. Come unlearn with us :)

These sessions are a tradition of Black Terps Matter. The first few days of each new school semester we make sure to provide knowledge on some of the topics we think are most important.

The first set of unlearning sessions occurred on September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of 2020 completely virtually. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, instead of doing the teach-in type event in-person with the (very necessary) safety regulations we have in the past event - we will be live-streaming our discussions of the topics in regards to in the articles/information provided and providing a link to watch the session (on this page) after the event. Thank you!

These events will NOT happen physically at Nyumburu Cultural Center on the campus of The University of Maryland, College Park, due to the COVI-19 Pandemic.
This set of unlearning sessions is being dedicated to this troupe of wonderful young Black women and dancers based out of Washington D.C. - they recently did a fantastic dance routine outside of a locally owned business, check it out through the button!

Song: Don’t Say You Will - New Impressionz - Local D.C. Band

Choreography: Poca, owner of Raw Element Dance Co. - Washington D.C. - Video from her Visual Album "Queendom"

Location: Southwest Soda Pop Shop | Follow them here | Your local Black Woman-Owned ice cream shop!
Check it out yourself @ 1142 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024
